Hey everyone!
I’ve decided to start a contest of sorts within this community.
Each week on Saturday, I’ll share a chart for you to analyze and annotate.
By Wednesday night you’ll submit your markup by sharing the link to this article on Twitter, using a hashtag that I give you, and including an image of your markup.
You can either print out the chart and annotate it by hand or use trading software, but you need to include an image of your annotations in your submission.
After I’ve reviewed all the submissions, I’ll make a post each Friday with my personal markup as well as 3 winners (and some honorable mentions).
I’ll be shouting the 3 winners out on Twitter and I am also brainstorming some other prizes. If you have any ideas for prizes let me know in the comments.
The idea is for this to be a fun exercise that builds this community and improves our chart analysis.
For this week, you will submit with the hashtag #TEChartChallenge1 and annotate the chart of ROKU 0.00%↑ covering the timeframe of February 2020 to the present.
Feel free to use your own chart, indicators, and software but make sure to cover the same time span.
What should you label? Here are a few ideas:
Key price and volume characteristics
Signs of institutional accumulation
Trends above and below key moving averages
Volatility contractions
Low-risk Entry points
Sell rule execution
Breakouts, Breakdowns
Edges you see
As you go through the chart, make sure to be as intellectually honest as possible. Go bar by bar and simulate trading Roku in real-time.
That’s it! I look forward to doing this exercise myself and seeing all the submissions!
They are due Wednesday night 9/14.
Let me know in the comments section what you think of this challenge idea.
Best,
Richard

Great idea. I think I am good at some of the items you ticked off to analyze but not others. Good way to learn and share with others.
