How to Improve Your Trading (10 Key Resources)

In this post I’ll share 10 Key Resources that have helped me out immensely and I would strongly recommend to everyone reading. These resources all complement one another and will serve you well from day trading to longer term position trading/trend following.
I’ve included a mixture of both free/low cost options as well as other key resources that are well worth their value and I’ve personally found extremely helpful.
My trading journey started with taking Dr Eric Wish’s class at the University of Maryland and I have no doubt that starting with his class saved me year’s off my learning curve and thousands of dollars worth of mistakes.
This list of resources further sharpened my skills, saving me time and money.

How I Made 2 Million Dollars in the Stock Market - Nicolas Darvas
This is the first trading book I ever read and and even while decades old to this day it stands as an excellent and fun introduction to trading.
It tells the story of Darvas as he makes every mistake a trader can make, perseveres, and develops his own trading style.
His methods still work to this day and many of his observations about price movements are insightful and will serve you well throughout your trading career.
How To Make Money in Stocks - William O’Neil
HTMMIS is another foundational book. Although I don’t trade completely like O’Neil his messages of studying history, focusing on the best stocks and stocks with the N-Factor are key lessons for any trader.
The market leader charts themselves at the beginning are an amazing resource.
Stage Analysis Masterclass - Stan Weinstein
It was a pleasure putting together this class with Stan. I never expected to be working with a Market Legend when I first read his book.
We spent many months producing the written and recorded material and creating an up to date resource that teaches Stan’s trading style and Stage Analysis.
It is a very substantial course that likely takes months to work through.
My favorite aspect was the QnA where we walk through charts live and Stan discusses exactly how he is interpreting price action. This is a class that can knock years off your learning curve.
Super Performance Keys Mark Minervini and David Ryan
I’ve likely watched this video with Mark and David over 30 times by now. It’s an excellent reminder of the keys to achieving super-performance. It goes beyond just one style.
Swing Trading Masterclass - Oliver Kell
I wish this class existed when I first started learning. Oliver shares his whole methodology throughout the 5 webinars, each going multiple hours and answering dozens of live questions. I’ve rewatched the webinars many times.
Oliver is the US Investing Champion of 2020 where he returned 941%. If there is anyone who you should learn from to take advantage of a fresh bull market it’s Oliver. He currently manages his fund full-time.
He put his heart and soul into this class and his incredibly detailed process including entries, exits, position sizing, routines, screens… everything you need to excel.
Technical Analysis Using Multiple Timeframes by Brian Shannon
Both his first and second books are excellent. In his first Brian dives deep into how to interpret price action on multiple timeframes.
Learn a Setup Scot1and
This was one of my favorite presentations from last year’s TraderLion Conference. Scot1and shares his setups and how to develop and master your own.
IPO & Super Growth Stock Masterclass
This is the most Recent Masterclass with fund managers and veteran traders: Eve Boboch, Eric Krull, Kathy Donnelly, and Kurt Daill.
This class is a comprehensive course overing their work and research into trading IPOs and Super Growth stocks as well as each of their own individual entry setups and sell rules.
If you want to learn how to catch the next TSLA or FB, this is a great class for you.
Shahid Saleem Interview
This webinar was extremely comprehensive. Shahid went through essentially a free masterclass explaining his process.
Trading Psychology Masterclass - Jared Tendler
There comes a point in your trading career after you have learned about setups and price action that you come to understand how much of Trading is about Psychology.
This is the perfect resource to develop a full system to master this aspect of trading and develop it as an edge.
Jared is the Author of the Mental Game of Trading and has worked with thousands of traders and institutional clients to help them understand their emotions to fuel their performance.
We just recently updated this course and if you struggle with confidence, discipline, fear, or greed issues this is a must for you.
