Excellent write up Richard; very clear and concise summary of what TA is, what is is for, and what makes it effective. I wish I had a Richard Moglen when I 1st started many (too many to disclose!) years ago. Thanks for your generosity to share your knowledge and experience with us. I'd say that everyone, from new bee to seasoned trader can benefit from subscribing to your newsletter. Congrats on a well done 1st piece!
A small note: The new gen might not know what an eighth is as it was replaced by the decimal system in the trading world!

Great first post Mogo, ty. I love your second chart layout in the Key 1 section. Have you shared that template perchance? I'm in a bit of indicator overload purgatory right now!
First time I have seen your youtube explanation using charts and to me found the following very annoying...you are talking about some candle stick pattern and you say "you should pay attention when you see this(not the exact words) and the cursor is at a certain location but you don't say what the "this" is that you are seeing. Very frustrating...If you said " if you see three descending candles ticks followed by a gap up" that would help immensely.
some of this is like teaching calculus when the viewer has not learned geometry.
I know you have widely different audiences but if it is for the beginner, detailed explanations are helpful.
In any event, you are doing a great service with these videos.
Great first post! I’ve been investing for a few years and trading for about 18 months. I’m definitely guilty of breaking basic rules sometimes (gambling!) instead of relying on the technicals. However I’m determined to keep on learning more about TA as well as the psychological part of trading and really figure out what trading style best suits me. I find your YouTube channel very informative and I appreciate your low-key, approachable style. I look forward to working my way through your videos and interviews as well as following your posts here. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
